Rane assures withdrawal of hiked power tariff, bail out industries, “Udyog Mitra” meet in city

The Industries Minister Narayan Rane took a powerful step on Thursday that would push industrial development across Vidarbha ahead by assuring withdrawal of hiked power tariff and, most importantly, holding “Udyog Mitra” Conference in Nagpur instead of Mumbai.

devendra-fadnavisRane was replying to a Call Attention Motion in Vidhan Sabha raised by BJP MLA Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis drew the attention of Government by saying, “The industries in Hingna and Butibori MIDC areas have been facing enormous difficulties on all fronts. Many new industrialists have been hesitating to set up their units following several odds. The competitiveness has taken a severe beating due to unjustifiable and steep hike in power tariff. He demanded withdrawal of hiked electricity tariff, methodological implementation of water rates, providing Consent for Establishment concerning CEPT, organizing of “Udyog Mitra” Conference in Nagpur instead of Mumbai and extending relief to industries in Hingna MIDC area by positive approach over levying of various taxes apart from development duty recovered by the Government,” Fadnavis asserted in the House while speaking on his Call Attention Motion.

The Industries Minister Narayan Rane, replying to the Call Attention Motion, assured the House that the hiked power tariff would be withdrawn, the State Government is also against the increase in water rates and will come up with a solution to the problem soon, will hold “Udyog Mitra” Conference in Nagpur this year instead of Mumbai and would positively consider in giving relief to the industries in Hingna MIDC are from various taxes.
