Ram Gopal Varma’s Twitter overdose is still rolling out. A day after his comment on newly elected beautiful MLA in Assam went viral and got raps from his followers, he chose to stick to his comment rather than backing off.
Sharing Angoorlata’s pictures before and after winning the elections, Ramu had tweeted: If MLA can look like this, Achche din aagaye hai. Thank you Angoorlataji. Thank you Modiji…1st time I love politics.”
In no time, Twitterati began trolling the Company director for his inappropriate remark about the Assamese actress-turned-politician.
Now, Ramu has stood by his comment, stating that he “was paying a compliment to her.”
He tweeted; “With regards to my comment on Angoorlataji, I was just paying a compliment to her. Since most MLAs don’t look good it was such a change.”
He also defended himself in anther tweet; “My every compliment is taken as negative comment…I don’t know if it’s lack of their English knowledge or their dumbness quotient.”
Angoorlata, who hails from the small town of Nalbari, has worked in many Bengali and Assamese movies like Jonda Iman Gunda and Bakor Putek. With her performance in the film Sonar Kharu Nelage Moke, Angoorlata made an impact on Assamese cinemagoers and crtitics. For past eight years, she has been one of the most popular actresses of Assam.
Being passionate for dance, Angoorlata always had a dream to master at Kathak. The turning point in Angoorlata’s life was when she met the famous actress Seema Biswas, who is also from Nalbari.
