According to the met department, the region would experience heavy thunderstorm and rains throughout the next week.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature in the city was 29.4 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 24.7 degree Celsius. However, dark clouds started gathering towards evening and most parts of the city received decent rainfall,.

The south-west monsoon winds are not moving ahead over the central part of the country due to the presence of cyclonic circulation. This caused a delay in the arrival of rains in the region. The met department predicts good rainfall in coming weeks.

Weather experts feared drought-like situation in Vidarbha due to lack of rains. Some experts were worried over the depleting water levels in parts of Vidarbha. On an average the month of July receives around 287.7 mm rainfall.
