Priyanka Chopra, whose last Bollywood film Jai Gangaajal released in 2016, is all set to mark her comeback into Bollywood with The Sky Is Pink, opposite Farhan Akhtar and the makers have now locked the release date of the movie.

The makers today announced that their movie, which is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13, will hit the theatres on October 11. Zaira Wasim, of Dangal fame, is playing Aisha while Farhan and Priyanka are playing her parents in the movie.

The biographical drama has been directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shonali Bose. PeeCee will be sharing screen space with Farhan for the second time in TSIP after Dil Dhadakne Do. The Sky Is Pink has been shot in Mumbai, Delhi, London and the Andamans.

After signing the film, Chopra had said, “I look forward to diving into this film…it’s very special to me. As soon I read it, I knew I had to be a part of telling this story, so I’m wearing two hats on this one… as an actor and as a co-producer. In both aspects, I am equally excited to work with the amazing team of actors and technicians we have on board. Shonali is a formidable filmmaker and I can’t wait to see this story unfold in her expertise. I’m looking forward to working with Farhan, Ronnie and Sid again. All in all, it’s a great homecoming.”

On his part, Farhan had stated, “I am happy to be a part of Shonali’s next. It is a beautiful story and I am looking forward to working with Priyanka again and collaborating with Ronnie and Sid.”

Priyanka is also co-producing the film along with Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala.
