Private company employees caught red-handed while offering bribe to Dahegaon sarpanch

Nagpur News : Adding another tale to the bribe cases, three persons tried to bribe a sarpanch of Dahegaon (Rangari). Acting on the complaint of the female sarpanch Archana Choudhary, Anti-corruption bureau sleuths set up a trap at A K Hotel in Sitabuldi and arrested the three persons while giving bribe of Rs 50,000 on Monday afternoon. The accused have been  presented before court on Tuesday.

The accused arrested are Deepak Dhotre (41), a resident of Zingabai Takli, Amol Korde (32) and Umesh Chikole (30). All three are employees of B G Construction Company of Pune.

Archana Choudhary, in her complaint stated that B G Shirke Company had got an contract to set up tower at Lonara. The accused had applied for transmission line through MSEB for opening the office of B G Constructin company at Dahegaon. Though the land comes under forest department, they needed NOC by Choudhary to get the transmission.

However, Choudhary refused to give the NOC since code of conduct has been implemented due to elections and no NOC could be given during this span of time. She asked the company owner to wait for few months. Dhotre, Korde and Chikole offered bribe of Rs 50,000 to Choudhary for completing their work without any fuss. Choudhary and her husband Kishore immediately alerted ACB office and as per the trap, Kishore called all three to meet at a hotel at Sitabuldi where they were caught while giving bribe. Cops are further investigating the case.
