New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Thursday questioned prime suspect Vicky in connection with the CBSE class 10 Maths and class 12 Economics board exam question paper leak. The police, according to the reports, has not ruled CBSE’s role in the Maths and Economics paper leak. “Too early to say who the culprit is. As of now, Vicky is the main suspect in the CBSE exam paper leak,” News18 quoted Delhi Police as saying.

The Delhi Police added the board’s role can neither be confirmed nor denied. “We have asked CBSE for a sequence of events,” the police said. Raids are currently being conducted in Rajinder Nagar, Rohini and Dwarka in Delhi. The Delhi Police is questioning at least 25 people, most of whom were students.

Reacting to the CBSE paper leak, Ramesh Chand Jain, President of Delhi School Association, said, “Government should put culprits behind the bars. The first step they should take is set the system right. CBSE chairman should at least give a statement, why hasn’t he spoken to students & parents? This’s condemnable.”

Following a complaint, the Delhi Police on Wednesday registered two separate complaints and set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the CBSE paper leak. In its complaint to the Delhi Police, the CBSE alleged that a Delhi-based tutor leaked the class 10 Maths and class 12 Economics question paper.

The CBSE said that it received a complaint by fax on March 23 naming a person from Rajinder Nagar behind the paper leak. The complaint received by the CBSE mentioned two schools for their alleged involvement in the CBSE class 10 Maths and class 12 Economics paper leak.

A Times of India report mentioned that the CBSE chairperson had received a copy of the leaked class 10 Maths paper on Tuesday, a day before the exam was scheduled to happen.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced that it would be conducting a re-examination of class 10 Maths paper and class 12 Economics paper following the board exam question papers of the said papers leaked. The CBSE would soon announce the dates of the re-examination. The new dates for the class 10 Maths paper and class 12 Economics paper would be announced within this week.
