Nagpur: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on Tuesday graced the state-level launch of “Golden Era of Maharashtra Through Unity and Trust” at Vishwa Shanti Sarovar. The programme was organised by the Brahma Kumaris in Nagpur.
Addressing the gathering, the President highlighted Maharashtra’s historic and ongoing contribution to India’s social, economic, cultural, and spiritual progress. She described the state as a land that has shaped national consciousness through transformative ideas and movements that strengthened the foundation of nation-building.
Referring to Maharashtra’s rich legacy, President Murmu said the thoughts, struggles, and contributions of visionaries such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and several other reformers continue to inspire India’s democratic and social values.

She called for collective determination to build a stronger Maharashtra and a more prosperous India by learning from history while embracing modern technology, skill development, and innovation. Expressing confidence in the Brahma Kumaris’ initiative, President Murmu said the “Golden Era of Maharashtra Through Unity and Trust” campaign would encourage people to develop inner strength, leadership qualities, and a commitment to value-based development.
Speaking on the role of spirituality in public life, the President said that spiritual awareness strengthens human values and a sense of duty. Harmony, ethical conduct, positive thinking, and social responsibility, she said, are essential pillars of a healthy society. When these values become part of daily life, mutual trust naturally grows and strengthens social bonds.
President Murmu underlined that unity and trust form the foundation of a strong nation. She said that when trust flourishes, people rise above personal interests and work collectively for the greater good. Every citizen, she added, can actively contribute to nation-building by promoting equality, eliminating discrimination, and engaging in community service.
Concluding her address, the President stated that India would be truly developed only when everyone has equal opportunities to progress, technology becomes a tool for inclusive growth, and the benefits of development reach all sections of society. She appreciated the Brahma Kumaris for their efforts and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to reinforce unity and trust across Maharashtra and the nation.
