Nagpur: Prayas Panel scored an impressive victory in the elections held for new executive of Jain Kalar Samaj on Sunday. The elections, conducted after 12-year gap, saw drubbing of incumbent President Ravindra Durugkar and his panel. The results of the Sunday election were declared on Monday. Prayas Panel established its supremacy on the Central Executive and Nagpur District Committee of Jain Kalar Samaj.

Prayas Panel’s Anil Ahirkar was elected as President while Chandrashekhar Admane and Shashi Samarth bagged the posts of Vice President and Secretary respectively. Similarly, Ravikant Harde was elected President of Nagpur District Committee. On the other hand, the rival panel managed to win only two posts of life members. For District Executive, 5400 members exercised their franchise and for Central Executive poll, 7280 members voted to elect new office-bearers.

Prayas Panel, during its campaign, had highlighted financial irregularities indulged in by the rival incumbent panel as well as running the organization shabbily. The highlighting of the crucial issues to the hilt ultimately resulted in an impressive win for the Prayas Panel. Non-conduction of elections for new executive since the past 12 years was also raised to the hilt that turned the tables for the incumbent rival panel. The victorious panel showed its commitment to work for welfare of Jain Kalar Samaj honestly.
