The new executive committee of NVCC was also elected unopposed on this occasion.

The election was held at the NVCC office on Temple Road in Civil Lines following seventy second AGM.

The election has also catapulted president of Conderetion of All India Traders (CAIT), B C Bhartia, who was the former president of NVCC and his mate Prakash Wadhwani into prominent position at NVCC again.

With the election of the new executive committee taking place unopposed, the speculations which were flying thik and fast in trading circles for the past few days, have been laid to rest.

It was believed that this year too, voting would take place for electing the new body unopposed, resulting into a keen contest among the contenders for various posts.

Vice-presidents Ajay Madan and Arjundas Ahuja were also believed to be keen to contest for the post of president.

Following serious allegations levelled by former president of NVCC Radheshyam Sarda that fictitious traders were made members of NVCC, it was expected that the AGM would be conducted amid much turmoil.

However, all the calculations about a fiery elections went off the mark after B C Bhartia and Prakash Wadhwani joined hands.

This resulted into Prakash Mehadia gaining control of the NVCC reins again.

Viren Chandak and Ashwini Agrawal acted as election officers.

Charudatta Marath and Sanjay M Agrawal also helped in the smooth election process.

Soon after his election, Prakash Mehadia told Nagpur Today that he would try to address the problems of traders including sensitisation of traders on the much awaited GST.

He would also try solve problems of market places like provision of basic amenities for which he would hold talks with the civic administration.
