PKV Hostel students go on rampage over tea bill money dispute, 3 arrested

Nagpur: Students of Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapith (PDKV) University’s Training Centre and Hostel, situated near Kachipura Square, Ramdaspeth, on Saturday morning went on rampage and ransacked shop of a tea vendor over bill money. The matter reached Dhantoli police who had to intervene and use force to scatter the ruckus creating students. Three of the students have been taken into custody.

The trouble started when the owner of the tea stall, being run near the PKV Hostel, demanded tea bill money from the students leading to a wordy duel. The petty issue soon catapulted into a major showdown as the student resorted to ruckus and went on rampage.

The students allegedly ransacked the tea shop and even tried to meddle in police action by raising slogans. As the matter threatened to snowball the police used force to scatter the rampaging students.

The situation went tense as the students refused to leave the place and continued protests against the police. After some time, calm prevailed.

Dhantoli police have launched investigation into the ruckus and registered offences against the arrested students.
