Nagpur: The second phase of data-collection over citizens’ opinion on ‘Smart Nagpur’ will be launched during November 7-9, 2015, informed Mayor Pravin Datke through a press note issued by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).

During the first phase of this drive, the opinions of 3,25,000 citizens have been sought over the ‘Smart Nagpur.’ The NMC is seeking assistance of Delivering Change Foundation in this drive.

During the first phase of the drive, the emphasis was laid on ‘pan city’, the entire city. As many as 40% families gave priority to ‘cleanliness’ (swachchhata) during the first phase, as found in the analysis of the data so collected.
For data-collection during first phase, during October 13 to 25, as many as 6,52,000 forms were distributed among citizens, of which 3,25,000 duly filled forms reached the NMC. When analyzed the data, the citizens were found to be giving weight to cleanliness.

The second phase will survey citizens’ opinion on the ‘type of cleanliness’. In order to know citizens’ opinion, road-shows at 2 to 3 points will be organised in each zone of NMC. The road-show will be held for 2 hours at 20 points (places) in the city, between 7 am and 8 pm every day.

The NMC will try its best to seek opinions of all citizens during the 3-day drive.
