Department of Zoology, RTM Nagpur University organized a “Curriculum Based Workshop on Use of Tools and Techniques in Biological Sciences” for outgoing students of M.Sc. and research scholars of the department recently on the eve of National Science Day held on 28th February and 1st March 2013.
The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Ashok V. Gomashe, Hon’ble Registrar, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. The chief guest in his address said that such workshop will definitely benefit students and research scholars. The students of this university have the knowledge of subject but due to lack of practical approach they are lagging behind to do quality research. For this, every science student must be practically sound and knowledgeable in their subject and subsequently updated with newer techniques and develop the skills as per the need of the hour, he added. He also appealed the students to take advantage of such valuable and research oriented workshop to acquire skills from experts.
Convener of workshop and Head of the Department, Prof. A. M. Khurad introduced and felicitated the chief guest with shawl and shrifal and chaired the function. He elaborated the role of the department to make aware and equip the students with new techniques through such workshop.
Organizing Secretary, Dr. S. B. Zade made introductory remarks about the workshop and proposed a vote of thanks.
