Pedestrian knocked dead in Wadi

Nagpur: A pedestrian was knocked dead by a speeding car on Tuesday evening. The accident took place under the jurisdiction of Wadi police station.

Mohd Imran Abdul Pathan, aged 32, and a native of Bihar, was crossing the road from Syndicate Bank to Gurudwara at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday. A speeding white-coloured Indica car (MH 31 AK 631) came from the opposite direction and crushed Imran to death. The car zoomed passed from the scene leaving a blood-stained Imran. Commuters rushed in to help him and informed Wadi police about the accident. Imran was rushed to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital ut doctors declared him dead after preliminary treatment.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Mohd Jabbar Navshad (40), Wadi police have registered an offence under Sections 279, 304 (a) of the IPC read with Sub Sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act and booked the unidentified ‘killer driver’.
