Pawar visits the rain-ravaged areas in Vidarbha

ADX_2333Nagpur News: The Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar visited and reviewed excessive rain-affected areas of Vidarbha and arrived in Nagpur by a special flight today.

After his arrival in the city, Pawar visited a farmer Suresh Kohle’s farm in Pendhri in Hingna Taluka, District Nagpur. Kohle took Pawar to his 9-acre agriculture land which was ravaged by the rain-fury. Suresh told Pawar that he suffered heavy losses as the crops of cotton, soybean and vegetables were totally destroyed due to flooding of the land by excessive rains. Pawar then visited Kinhi Dhanoli, Khapri Gandhi, Kanholibara, Takalghat and reviewed the situation and talked with farmers.

The Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was accompanied by the Guardian Minister Shivajirao Moghe, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh, Minister of State for Finance and Planning Rajendra Mulak, MLA Vijay Ghodmare, Zilla Parishad President Sandhya Gotmare and District Collector Saurabh Rao.

However, before Pawar’s visits to various places, the Divisional Commissioner  Venu Gopal Reddy apprised Sharad Pawar of losses suffered in Nagpur Division by a formal demonstration. Reddy was briefing Pawar at the Official Bungalow Devgiri. Similarly, Collector informed Pawar of the losses suffered in the district while NMC Commissioner Shyam Wardhane pointed out losses suffered in the Nagpur city.

Present on the occasion include Guardian Minister Shivajirao Moghe, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh, Minister of State for Finance and Planning Rajendra Mulak, NIT Chairman Pravin Darade and other officials.
