Patriotic act: Nagpur joins Maharashtra in mass singing of National Anthem

Nagpur: Responding to State Government’s call, people in Nagpur in large number en masse recited National Anthem with enthusiasm on Wednesday. Some people stood wherever they were and joined the mass singing.

In educational institutions, students were asked to gather on the ground at 11 am for the mass recital. In most Government departments, too, it was followed scrupulously. On streets, some people and policemen though stood and sang the National Anthem, some others kept on moving.

Acting on the orders of Central Government, various State Governments had done mass singing of National Anthem on various days to mark the 75 years of Independence. The Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department of Maharashtra had issued a Government Resolution wherein it had mentioned the guidelines for the recital to be held on Wednesday between 11 am and 11.01 am.

Divisional Commissionerate:
Under the guidance of Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Prasanna Bidari, the officers and staff sung National Anthem. Those present were Additional Commissioner Dr Madhvi Khode-Chaware, Deputy Commissioners Milind Salve, Asha Pathan, Chandrabhan Parate.

Collectorate:
District Collector led the mass singing of national anthem at Bachat Bhavan in the premises of Collectorate. District Collector R Vimala first explained today’s importance, the creation of national anthem and importance of mass singing. Resident Deputy Collector, Vijaya Bankar, other officers and staff participated.

RTMNU:
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) organised mass singing of national anthem at its various campuses. All Post Graduate Teaching Departments (PGTD) of RTMNU, the conducted colleges, examination department and various departments held the singing independently. Main recital was conducted at Jamnalal Bajaj Bhavan of RTMNU where Dr Raju Hiwase, Registrar read out the guidelines of Government about singing national anthem. He then appealed everyone to sing the anthem. Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro-Vice Chancellor and other officers, staff were present.

NMC:
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) held mass singing at its hall at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Administrative building. Nagpur Smart City played national anthem at the loudspeakers installed at 51 squares. In its Civil Lines office the mass singing was held under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B. Smart City CEO Chinmay Gotmare, Additional Commissioners Deepak Kumar Meena, Ram Joshi, Chief Engineer Pradip Khawale, Deputy Commissioner Nirbhaya Jain, Ravindra Bhelawe, Chief Fire Officer Rajendra Uchke, Additional Commissioner Mahesh Dhamecha, Prakash Warade, Municipal Secretary Ranjana Lade, Education Officer Priti Mishrikotkar, Sports Officer Piyush Ambulkar participated. All the offices of NMC, including Zonal offices, schools, colleges, bus stand, traffic signal took part.

MSEDCL:
The Katol Road office of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) conducted mass singing of National Anthem in presence of Nagpur Area Regional Director Suhas Rangari, Chief Engineer of Nagpur Division Dilip Dodke, General Manager (Finance and Accounts) Sharad Dahedar, Executive Engineer Harish Gajbe, Avinash Sahare, Ajay Khobragade, Deputy General Manager Pramod Khule, Deputy General Manager Rupesh Deshmukh, Assistant General Manager Pradip Satpute, Executive Engineer Sameer Shendre, Rajendra Giri, Prajwala Kirnake, Deputy Law Officer Dr Sandip Kene, Senior Manager (Finance and Accounts) Ashok Poinkar, System Manager Prasanna Yelne, Deputy Chief Officer for Industry Relations Sachin Lahane and others were present.
