Yeh hai young Mumbai meri jaan!

With youngsters at the helm of affairs – a young CM Devendra and proxy ‘leader’ Aditya Thakarey of allies Shiv Sena (son of Uddhav ) Mumbai will soon become the party destination for the world – the first Indian city that will be officially open all night.
This is a suggestion made in right earnest by Aditya to Devendra which has met with the latter’s instant approval.

As per Aditya’s idea, non residential areas of Mumbai like Kala Ghoda, Nariman Point, BKC and popular malls can be made into special entertainment zones at night. He writes in a letter to Fadnavis that ” eateries, cafes, malls, theatres, chemists and milk shops could remain open all night in non residential areas”. The thriving night life would prove to be a boon for tourism and also boost the economy of the state.

Mumbai police have been consulted and have already given their nod for the idea. The next step would be to get the Shops and Establishments Act amended as also the Police Act.

Aditya has tweeted ” tweeps the GOOD news is CM has accepted my proposal of nightlife and assured me all amendments to laws by March/ August session”.

It is ironical that the same day that R.R. Patil, long time Home Minister of Maharashtra under the last political dispensation, passes away this idea of all-night Mumbai is flashed. It may be recalled that R.R. was a vehement opponent of Dance bars and other such distractions and had made timely closure of bars a very important issue. Mumbai restaurants HAD to shut sharp by 11.30 p.m.

All that is about to be reversed now. Good news for commerce, but bad news for parents??
