Hanif Mohammad returned to life after losing his heartbeat for six minutes as he battled for life at a hospital in Karachi. Regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world, Hanif has been battling with respiratory problems recently and had been admitted to the hospital a month back. He was later shifted to the ventilator at the Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi.

Earlier it was widely reported that Hanif had passed away at 81 at the Hospital. His son, Test player, Shoaib Mohammad, had said that Hanif’s condition had deteriorated since Sunday forcing him to be put on the ventilator. “He is now on a ventilator and in intensive care unit (ICU). He is facing respiratory complications due to his lung cancer,” Shoaib had said.

Hanif, nicknamed ‘The Little Master’ and was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013. Then he received treatment in London and returned home well. But Shoaib said the cancer had spread with time.
