Nagpur: In a bid to impede the selling of alcohol in hotels without permission and license, the State Excise Department on Saturday raided Pablo Lounge in Civil Lines, and seized foreign liquor.
The raid in the hotel, situated opposite to HDFC bank near Hyderabad house, was conducted by following a tip off. The bar is still under last stage of construction and is not fully operational yet.
“The department received information through its informers. We were told that the lounge was serving liquor without permission”, informed Superintendent (Excise), Swati Kakde. “During the raid, we found that some customers were celebrating a birthday party. When we checked the lounge, the raiding team discovered foreign liquor. Thus, we have seized the bottles and carrying on with the investigation” she added.
