Nagpur: The newly appointed General Manager of South East Central Rly, Satyendra Kumar paid his official visit to Nagpur on July 22. It is his first ever visit to Nagpur after taking over the charge of General Manager SECR.
During his visit, he held a meeting of officials and chalked out a plan of various railway-works under the SECR division. He laid stress on providing all related basic amenities to passengers, hygiene and cleanliness at railway station and its vicinity, timely running of trains, facing the challenges within limited resources, and provision of budget for various held up works.
According to him, Nagpur-Bilaspur corridor work is under process and the first priority is to run the train on this route at the speed of 130 kms, and later on increase it to 160 kms per hour. He also informed that the work on Nagpur-Chhindwara-Gondia narrow gauge would take two years to be completed, and delay in the work was due to encroachment on Nagpur-Chhindwara line. He further said, this issue would be discussed with the state government which would get encroachment removed from there so that the line-work might be started.
