Orphan children exempted from giving income certificate for admission under RTE

Nagpur: The State government has exempted the orphan and differently abled children from giving income certificate under the RTE. In this regard it has issued a new GR on 16 Jan 2018. Now these children while filling the admission form under RTE quota will not be required to submit income certificate. The orphan children staying in NGOS will be able to study in good schools. The guardians of differently abled children will get a relief because of the government’s decision. In the city there are nearly 24 NGOs, out of these some a run by the administration while others are run by private agencies.

The orphan children would face great difficulty in getting admission and income certificate. Efforts are on so that children of the blind parents do not have to give income certificate under RTE. RTE Action Committee has been making efforts continuously for this. The RTE Action Committee said that from next year the children of the blind parents will also get the benefit.

Regarding this RTE Action Committee Chairman Mohommad Shahid Sharif hailed the decision. He said that this will give a chance to the orphan and differently challenged children to study in good schools. Sharif said the NGOs should fill, the information in forms under RTE and give it to Action Committee so that the children get good education. The Orphanages have appealed to administration so that the children of blind parents get admission under RTE.
