Only 68 percent apply for polytechnic seats

Directorate of technical education had given extension to submit application forms for polytechnic courses. But there is lacklustre response by students. Monday was last day to submit application forms for polytechnic courses and confirm admission. But only 68 per cent application forms were received in comparision to available seats in Nagpur division. Going by this, it is now clear that large number of seats will remain vacant like last year.
According to earlier schecule, the last date of online submission of application forms was July 8. But only 60 per cent application forms were received.
There are 24,655 seats available in 71 polytechnics of Nagpur division. Upto last day, 18,088 application kits were sold from 43 application receipt centres and only 16,743 applications were confirmed. The percentage of this is only 67.91 per cent. There is possibility that many of these students will not take admissions. The primary merit list will be declared at 5 pm on Tuesday, July 15. The students will be able to submit their objections upto July 17. The final merit list will be announced on July 18.
