One death, five injured as truck ram into auto

Nagpur: Early in the morning on May 28, 2015, a truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw at the Maruti Showroom Square in the jurisdiction of Jaripatka Police Station. The auto-rickshaw turned turtle and one woman was killed on the spot while five others were injured grievously.

According to police sources, the victim identified as Vikas Deshbratar aged 40 years and a resident of Kuradpeth was going to attend the marriage of the niece’s daughter in the Auto-rickshaw bearing RTO registration number MH-49 / D 3399. They were going from Indora to Yashodhara Lawns. The deceased woman has been identified as Rama Bai Katibadhebai aged 40 years. All the injured have been admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital where they are undergoing treatment. The names of the injured are not known yet.

The police have arrested the truck driver identified as Shantilal Meena aged 35 years and a resident of Dongarpur, Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, on investigation it came to fore that the driver of the truck bearing RTO Registration No. GIICU-2662 Shantilal Meena was driving the truck in negligent manner causing the accident in which one woman lost her life. There were six occupants in the auto-rickshaw including the driver of the auto.  The occupants of the auto include 4 women, Vikas Dehsbratar and the deceased Rama Bai Katibadhebai.

On receipt of the information, the Jaripatka Police personnel reached the spot and arrested the driver and performed other formalities of reaching the injured to IGGMC and dispatched the deceased for post-mortem after performing panchanama.
