Old rivalry triggers group clash in Yashodhara Nagar, five injured; 5 accused arrested

Nagpur:  Old rivalry took a bloody turn when two groups, armed with lethal weapons, clashed with each other on Monday morning in Yashodhara Nagar area. The bloody clash left five persons seriously injured. Five accused fighters have so far been arrested in this connection.

The trouble started when complainant’s brother Mohammed Asif had a scuffle with accused Sheru alias Samir Ahmed Zakir Ahmed on Sunday over an issue. Later, around 9 am on Monday, Mohammed Asif and his brother Mohammed Ashfaq (32) went to the accused Sheru’s house in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, near Ayesha Mosque, and asked him for the reason behind the scuffle. Enraged by the act of both brothers, the accused Sheru and his two other accomplices Tanvir Ahmed Zakir Ahmed (30) and Wasim Ahmed  Zakir Ahmed (23), both residents of same area, attacked Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Ashfaq with swords and iron rods and inflicted serious head injuries. The three accused also attacked another man named Mohammed Sabir.

Yashodhara Nagar Senior PSI Gaekwad, acting on the complaint of Mohammed Ashfaq, booked the three accused Sheru, Tanvir Ahmed Zakir Ahmed and Wasim Ahmed  Zakir Ahmed under Sections 326, 324, 34 of IPC Read with Section 4/25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act. Tanvir and Wasim were arrested.

When the matter appeared calming down, vengeance overpowered the injured Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Ashfaq and Mohammed Sabir. To settle the score, the trio and their one accomplice named Mohammed Hafiz Mohd Hanif Sheikh (26) armed themselves with iron rods and wooden sticks and returned to the spot around the same time. The four attacked Sheru alias Samir Ahmed and Wasim Ahmed and inflicted bloody injuries.

Now, acting on a counter complaint, the Senior PSI Gaekwad this time booked the accused under Sections 326, 324, 34 of IPC Read with Section 4/25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act. Subsequently, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Ashfaq, Mohammed Sabir and Mohammed Hafiz Mohd Hanif Sheikh were placed under arrest.
