Nagpur, In a major step towards improving water supply and ensuring public health, Orange City Water (OCW) has successfully resolved multiple complicated long-standing issues of contaminated and inadequate water supply across various command areas of Satranjipura Zone. Through strategic infrastructure upgrades and engineering interventions, citizens are now receiving clean, potable water with enhanced supply durations and pressure.

Wanjri CA (Vinoba Bhave Nagar, Santosh Nagar, Kundanlal Gupta nagar) – These areas were grappling with historic contamination issues. During the earlier 1.5-hour supply window, residents often received contaminated water for 15–20 minutes. To address this, OCW replaced a 3.5 km old pipeline network that had been running through sewer chambers. Following the replacement last month, residents now enjoy clean, potable water with supply duration of 2 to 2.5 hours.

Kalamna NIT CA (Ganesh Nagar, Chitrashala Nagar, Annapurna Nagar) – Previously, residents received only about 1 hour of water supply. OCW intervened by arresting major leakages in the 400 mm dia outlet and 300 mm and 150 mm dia distribution pipelines. Interconnections were also established to balance distribution. Additionally, isolation between Kalamna NIT CA and Wanjri CA was implemented after commissioning the Kalamna feeder. As of 10/05/2025, supply duration has improved to 1.5–2 hours.

Boriyapura Feeder CA (Golibar Chowk, Kumbharpura) – These localities were receiving 2 hours of water supply. OCW enhanced the system through sub-zoning, isolation, and pocketing of supply. As a result, water supply duration has now increased to 3–4 hours.

Shantinagar CA (Ramsumer Baba Nagar) – These areas had a history of insufficient supply. Consumers earlier received 2 hours of water. OCW replaced 1.5 km of old pipelines previously routed through sewer chambers. Since the last 2 months, residents are now receiving clean, safe drinking water with supply improved to 2.5–3 hours.

OCW remains committed to providing uninterrupted, clean, and pressure-balanced water supply to the citizens of Nagpur. These recent developments are part of our ongoing efforts to upgrade the city’s water infrastructure and ensure better living standards for all.
