Nagpur: The President of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) Prakash Mehadia has urged the traders to gear up for facing the challenge of GST, the biggest tax reform since Independence, which is being implemented from July 1, 2017. The launch of GST will reduce inflation and rid the business community of various taxes. “The NVCC welcomes the implementation of GST and appeals the traders to gear up for facing the challenge of the unified tax system. The The proposed GST taxation system is entirely based on technology where not even a single paper will be used. It is likely to pose problems but the NVCC is standing with the traders for resolving the problems,” the NVCC President Mehadia declared.

Mehadia further said that the NVCC had last month sent a letter to Central Government and apprised it about the problems arising from implementation of GST. Acting on the letter, the GST Council reduced the GST rate on some of the goods and also kept food grains out of the purview of GST. For this move, the NVCC thanks the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. NVCC also appeals all the traders to welcome the launch of GST from July 1, 2017.
