NSS Unit of Rajiv Gandhi College adopted Statue of “Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj”

Responding to the Prime Minister of India’s appeal to adopt statue of the national leaders for cleanliness under “Swachh Bharat Mission”, NSS unit of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur has adopted statue of “Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj” at Tukdoji Square, Manewada Road, Nagpur.

Nagpur Mayor Pravin Datke, Deputy Mayor Munnabhau Pokulwar, BJP Nagpur President MLA South Nagpur Sudhakar Kohale were prominently present in a program to pay tribute to “Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj” on his birth anniversary on 30th April 2016. Nagpur Mayor A NSS unit of 100 students and staff of college started cleaning the statue and surrounding premises form morning. Students removed the advertisements & sticker on the statue. Locals also joined their drive ans supported them. Pravin Datke handed over the letter of guardianship of statue of “Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj” to Prof. Rohit Himte, NSS, Program officer of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur.

On behalf of Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur Prof. P D. Shobhane thanked Nagpur Municipal Corporation and entire team of NMC hanuman Nagar Zone for great the support they offered during the process of adopting the statue and also for the Rashtrsant Tukdoji Maharaj Jayanti program. Student President Aman Raghuwanshi, Vice President Aditya Mitkari, Treasurer Shankit Kamble and their team worked hard for success of the program.
