Now, students can give NET in any subject than their regular subjects of graduation

Now, the students who have done graduation in Geography, Mathematics and Statistics could give National Eligibility Test (NET) in Population Staudies and the students who have done graduation in Humanity and Social Science could give NET in Women Studies. Till now, the students, who had done graduation in the specific subjects, were giving NET on the same subjects but it will be the first time that they can give NET in other subjects than the regular subjects.

The University Grants Commission’s (UGC) NET Exam will be conducted on December 29. It will be the first time that the students could give NET in other subjects instead of their regular subjects. The UGC has issued a notification in this connection. According to information, the UGC decision comes after considering connections between the two specific subjects and to facilitate students to give NET in the subjects of their choice.

The NET Exam will consist of 95 subjects. The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Teacher Eligibility results would be declared before issuance of the cut-off list. No exam paper will comprise negative marking and only optional questions would be asked in all the three question papers. The students would have pass separately in all the three question papers. The results would be prepared on the basis of specific percentage in all the three question papers. The “Answer-Key” of all NET papers would be issued to the students before the results. Then only the results would be declared.
