Punjab/Nagpur: The All India Hindu Federation has reportedly lodged a complaint in Punjab against Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim for allegedly posing as Lord Vishnu.
“We saw a video of Gurmeet Ram Rahim where he poses as Lord Vishnu, this has hurt religious sentiments of people,” Nishant Sharma, President, All India Hindu Federation.
“Our complaint has not been registered yet, so we are going to meet Punjab DGP today,” he added.
An FIR was filed on January 1 by a follower of the Haryana-based religious sect Dera Sacha Sauda and actor-comedian Kiku Sharda who played ‘Dadi’ in Comedy Nights with Kapil was arrested in Haryana. Actor-comedian Ali Asgar got anticipatory bail from Bombay High Court in the same case. Besides Sharda and Asgar, it names actors Gaurav Gera, Rajiv Thakur, Pooja Banerjee, Mouni Roy, Gautam Gulati and Sana Khan “and all known and unknown persons who make or act in the show Jashan-e-Umeed” for portraying their leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in “bad light”.
