Nagpur News : Considering the increasing complaints from consumers, Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has made it mandatory to accept applications for new connections only through online process.
In view of regular complaints from some local leaders and consumers and in order to avoid malpractices in the system, this online system has been launched. The system was launched in February 15, 2013, however, due to negligence and unawareness, the scheme failed to work. Thus, MSEDCL has made it mandatory for the consumers to apply for new connections through online process.
A press release issued by the department indicates action against irresponsible and ignorant officers in MSEDCL. The release also states that if a consumer would not be able to register online then MSEDCL officer of the sub-station concerned would have to fill the form of the consumer.
