Now, 50% concession for senior citizens too in ‘Aapli Bus’

Nagpur: Here is good news for senior citizens commuting in ‘Aapli Bus.’ The Transport Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation in a meeting held on Thursday approved a proposal granting 50 percent concession to citizens above 60 years of age.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman Jitendra (Bunty) Kukde and attended by Deputy Chairman Pravin Bhisikar, members Nitin Sathavane, Narendra Walde, Vaishali Rohankar, Archana Pathak, Manisha Dhawde, Ujjwala Sharma, Abhiruchi Rajgire, Transport Manager Shivaji Jagtap, NMC Secretary Harish Dubey, and Executive Engineer (Slums) D D Jambhulakr.

Presently, students, blind, physically disabled, freedom fighters are availing concession in ‘Aapli Bus.’ A proposal on the same lines for extending concession to senior citizens was put up before the Transport Committee which was approved unanimously. The Committee also discussed measures to increase revenue of Transport Department without putting up burden on commuters.

45 new mini buses soon:
The Transport Committee also approved a proposal to run additional 45 mini buses in accordance with the demand of citizens. The new mini buses will help streamline the ‘Aapli Bus’ service on many routes.
