Notorious goon nabbed with mauser gun in Nandanvan

Nagpur: Nandanvan police on Sunday chased a notorious criminal and recovered a country-made a mauser pistol from possession. The goon has been placed under arrest.

A team of Nandanvan Police Station, led by PSI Sachin Jadhav, was on patrol duty on Sunday in view of Nagpanchami festival. The team received a tip-off that the hardened goon Sheikh Imran alias Monu Sheikh Haroon (21), resident of Baba Taj Nagar, Nandanvan area, was carrying a country-made mauser pistol . Acting on the information, the team of cops reached the spot immediately. However, spotting the cops, Sheikh Imran tried to flee the spot but was chased by them. He was caught and overpowered by the chasing cops and detained for interrogation. Upon frisking, the accused goon was found to be in possession of the mauser pistol with magazine worth Rs 15,000. The weapon was seized and Sheikh Imran was placed under arrest.

The Nandanvan team of cops who initiated the action comprised of PSI Jadhav, PSI Mahendrasingh Thakur, constables Kishore Malokar, Nagesh Kundanwar, naik police constables Pramod Wagh, Sanjay Shahu, Nitin Akot, Sandeep Gawli, Pankaj Tamble, and Abhay Marode. The task was undertaken as per the directives of DCP Shridhar, ACP Kapgate, Senior PI Sunil Mahadik and PI Ganesh Thakre.
