The sudden change in weather is actually the routine season cycle which as per the Met Office is a normal process. “Every year winds from North bring down the temperature in Central India, and since there were rains in parts of Madhya Pradesh the temperature declined further. As the clouds have been hovering over the sky due to upper air cyclone, the winds were being obstructed till yesterday and city was not getting enough of the season. As the skies got cleared, it paved the way for already blowing strong northerly winds resulting into sudden lash of cold wave,” reasoned an official from Met Office as he spoke to Nagpur Today.
The cold wave condition is likely to remain for atleast 3 more days till any upper air cyclonic condition builds up, and the mercury may plummet further, the official added.
Meanwhile, the fresh spell of chills brought back the season’s joy in the city as people ensconced into the warmth of their homes and offices, covered with woolens and mufflers.
