No respite from heat soon, brace for dry weather in coming days: IMD

Nagpur: The Second Capital of the State is reeling under severe heat wave conditions as the city recorded the maximum temperature above 45 degrees Celsius, on Monday the fifth consecutive day.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the summer heat would remain for a few more days as there was an anticyclone affecting the advancement of the monsoon. IMD also hinted that the weather would remain dry for a few more days in most parts of Vidarbha including Nagpur.

There is no respite from the harsh summer as the minimum temperature was also recorded above 33.2 degrees Celsius on Monday.

The maximum temperature of Nagpur in the last five days was — 45.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, 45.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 45.3 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 46.2 degrees Celsius on Friday and 45.0 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Similarly, the minimum temperature of Nagpur in the last four days was also above 30 degrees Celsius.

On Monday, Gondia recorded the highest maximum temperature with 45.8 degrees Celsius. Brahmapuri also recorded a maximum temperature above 45 degrees Celsius. Akola (42.0), Amravati (42.4), Chandrapur (43.8), Gadchiroli (42.0), Wardha (44.8) and Yavatmal (43.5) recorded maximum temperature above 42 degrees.
