NMC’s Standing Committee approves development plans worth crores

Nagpur: The Standing Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation held its meeting on Monday and gave approval to a slew of proposals/schemes. The meeting was chaired by Sandeep Jadhav, Chairman of the Committee.

Dwelling on the agenda number 46, the Standing Committee approved the extension of tenure of Environment Officer Amit Mishra and Public Health Engineer Sandeep Lokhande till September 30, 2017, on the fixed honorarium of Rs 35,000. The tenure of these two officials, deployed on contract basis to oversee projects under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), had ended on April 3, 2017.

The Committee has kept its approval pending to the Rs 34.79 lakh proposal pertaining to prepration of a Town Planning scheme on 611.07 hectare land in Hudkeshwar-Narsala. The contract was to be given to Design Point Consultancy Private Limited.

The proposal of inviting Expression of Interest for starting Competitive Exam Training Centre of NMC was okayed sans criteria. The proposal to award Rs 34.45 lakh contract for construction of cement road in Prabhag No. 38 was given to M/s Ulhas Enterprises. Similarly, the Rs 1.49 crore tar road construction from Kalamna village to Vanjra village was awarded to M/s P K Constructions. M/s P K Nagrare was given contract for tarring of road from Chakrapani Nagar to Sidhheshwar Nagar to Maa Bhagwati Nagar in Prabhag No. 62. The cost of the work is Rs 8.10 lakh. The Rs 28.90 lakh paving block laying contract in Prabhag 25 has been approved to M/s Janhavi Enterprises. The paving block laying has to be done from Lokmanya Apartment in Tilak Nagar to West High Court Road.

There is a proposal to set up Record Section in every floor of NMC’s New Administrative Building. For securing the Record Sections? computers are needed. For purchasing the computers, a Rs 5 crore proposal was tabled before the Standing Committee for its san?tion. However, the Committee decided to send the proposal to the General Body Meeting for approval.

The Standing Committee directed M/s DRA Consultant Private Limited to submit its report regarding work done concerning Nag, Pili and Pora rivers in 2014 within one month. The Committee also approved the Rs 32.14 lakh proposal in this regard.

Construction of a road from Morris College T-Point to Institute of Science is going on. The work concerning shifting of MSEB and BSNL cables which fall under this road has been awarded to M/s M R Dhoble at the cost of Rs 1.02 crore.
