Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is all set to construct another e-library by demolishing the abandoned school platform at Ganjipeth in Mahal. The library, named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will be the civic body’s third e-library after one in Ratan Colony and another in Lashkaribagh.

The library set to come up on 12,000 sq ft sprawling land will be powered by solar system installed on the roof and comprises an auditorium on the first floor for education related programmes. There will be a classroom and cabins on this floor for preparing powerpoint presentation and keeping bags etc.

The second floor will have 25 computers and the entire area will be dedicated to girls. Similarly, the third floor will have 25 computers for boys. Apart from reading books online, the students can prepare for civil services, educational entrance examination etc. Each floor will have a pantry so that boys and girls can have snacks as per their convenience.

Corporator Dayashankar Tiwari proposed the project and also managed to get special funds of Rs 5 crore from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He finalized the design of e-library, prepared by architect Prashant Satpute. The design gives it a modern look and will make it one of the landmarks in Central Nagpur.
