Nagpur: Acting tough on tax defaulters, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Monday seized properties of five entities – three individuals and two developers – in Ward 57 of Ashi Nagar Zone for failing to pay Property Tax to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
The NMC cracked down on Sudarshankumar Ralram Khurana, House No. 20, outstanding Property Tax amount Rs 1,64,452, Rana Developers, Indust Tower, House No. 4144/9+10/Tower, total Property Tax pending Rs 3,12,228, Harshad Developers, Mohd Israel Mohd Hanif, House No. 2472, total Tax pending Rs 4,85,814, Gurpreet Singh Harvinder Singh, House No. 1559/E/16 to 27/18, defaulted tax amount Rs 37,906 and Gurudeo Singh Ranjit Singh Sirdi, House No. 1559/E/16 to 27/19, total tax pending Rs 37,906. The properties of all these five Property Tax defaulters have been seized by the NMC, said a press release issued by the civic body.
The action was initiated by Assistant Tax Assessor and Tax Inspector under the directive of Assistant Commissioner of Ashi Nagar Zone-9.
