Nagpur: State government has taken decision to hold municipal corporation elections on ward basis. Till government does not take any decision in this regard, untill then elections will be held on one ward-one representative basis, informed State Election Commissioner J S Saharia on Monday.
He was speaking to journalists in district collector”s office after chairing meeting. There are talks going on about conduction of Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections on ward basis or panel basis.
Replying to a query in the backdrop of this, Saharia gave above information. He said that if elections are held immediately, it would be on ward basis only. However, he added that nothing can be said about what decision State government takes.
