NMC paves way for Ajni Railway Over Bridge, two flyover projects receive a booster push

NMC has agreed to share the cost of 50 per cent of total cost of the Project Ajni Railway Over Bridge. The total cost of the Ajni Bridge has been estimated at Rs 36 crore out of which the NMC will bear Rs 18 crore. The two flyovers, one from Ajni Square to Medical T-Point and the second flyover from Medical T-Point to Tukdoji Square via Vanjari Nagar, would cost Rs 264.54 crore.

Nagpur News: The Project Ajni Over Bridge and the Project Extended Flyover from Ajni Square to Medical T-Point and Medical T-Point to Tukdoji Square via Vanjari Nagar all have gained steam and are likely to gain the required momentum once the readied proposals are sent to Government.

The District Collector Saurabh Rao called a meeting under the chairmanship of Nagpur MP Vilas Muttemwar and attended by top bosses of different Government Departments.

The significant outcome of the meeting was the NMC has agreed to share the cost of 50 per cent of total cost of the Project Ajni Railway Over Bridge. The total cost of the Ajni Bridge has been estimated at Rs 36 crore out of which the NMC will bear Rs 18 crore and the civic body will soon sending the proposal in this connection. The two flyovers, one from Ajni Square to Medical T-Point and the second flyover from Medical T-Point to Tukdoji Square via Vanjari Nagar, would cost Rs 264.54 crore and the proposal is ready to be sent to Government. The convening of the meeting signifies that the projects would get a push in the coming days.

Similarly, the meeting discussed the long pending projects pertaining to security wall around Pardi-based Muslim Kabrastan, increased Stamp Duty on lands and the issue of extension of lease period to Muslim Library.

The meeting was attended by South Nagpur MLA Dinanath Padole, Opposition Leader in NMC Vikas Thakre, NIT Chairman Pravin Darade, NMC Commissioner Shyam Wardhane, Chief Executive Officer of MHADA Balvir, District Planning Officer Y V Kumbhare, NIT’s Superintending Engineer Gujjelwar, officials of Mahavitaran, Public Works Department, NMC and other officials of concerned departments, Congress Corporators, and others.
