SEMINARY HILL MBR – COMPLETION OF 48-hour shut down – BUTTERFLY VALVE

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) & The Orange City Water (OCW) has planned to take up 48-hours repair and maintenance work at Pench-II water treatment plant (WTP) located at Gorewada from February 3 to 5.

However, it must be mentioned here, during this shutdown other water treatment plants like Pench I, Pench- III, Old Gorewada and Pench-IV at Godhani will remain fully operational.

In a bid to make its minimum impact on water supply, the areas affected due to Pench II shutdown have been divided into two parts : Day-1 (3rd Feb,2016) : Consumers receiving water supply from Bulk feeders on Fort, Laxmi Nagar Old line , Futala line, Rifle line, Red tank line, and other bulk consumers will not receive any water on Feb 3, but receive water supply on Feb 4 (Thus minimising its impact for 24-hours only while

Day-2(4th Feb,2016): Consumers on Pandey Layout line and Surendragarh DT will not receive any water. These consumers however will receive water as per schedule on Feb 3.

During this shutdown the major repair & modifications for rehabilitation & augmentation of Pench-II WTP will be carried out.

The planned works during this 48 hrs shutdown (10 am on Feb 3 to 10 am on Feb 5) are as follows:
(A) Interconnection of 1300/1000mm line for raw water inlet will be done
(B) New Flash mixer and motor will be fitted and commissioned
(C) Electrical panel : 3.3KV VCB panel at Pumping house will be renewed
(D) The openings/equalizing ports will be created in all the newly constructed adjacent channels before filtration for capacity augmentation
( E) Major gates repair & renewal :
Along with Pench-II , NMC-OCW has also planned 48 Hrs shutdown Gorewada BPT (Break Pressure Tank) during same period. During this shutdown only partial pumping (sufficient to operate Pench-IV WTP) will be done from Navegaon-Khairy Dam. The Gorewada BPT will not receive any water.

(A) Fitment of 900mm B/F valve on 1200mm outlet valve of BPT
(B) Fitment of overflow pipe on 1610mm outlet to Gorewada Lake
(C) Fitment of overflow pipe on 700mm outlet to Gorewada Lake

These works will affect the water supply to following areas on Feb 3(Wednesday)
LaxmiNagar Zone: Pratap Nagar ESR, Khamla ESR, Laxmi Nagar New ESR, Gayatri Nagar ESR, Takli Sim ESR
Hanuman Nagar Zone: Chinchbhuwan ESR: Narendra Nagar area, Borkute layout, Mhaske layout, Mhada colony, Manish nagar area, Jaydurga society (1 to 6), Shipla socity (1 to 4), Nagar Vikas Society, Sham Nagar, Suraj society, sai krupa society, Kannamwar Nagar, Ingole Nagar, PMG society, Madhuban Society,
Dharampeth Zone: Ram Nagar ESR: Gokulpeth, Ram nagar, Marartoli, Telengkhedi, Tilak nagar, Bharat nagar, Hindustan Colony, Verma Layout, New Verma Layout, Ambazari layout, Samta layout, Yashwant nagar, Hill Top, Ambazari Slum, pandhrabodi, Sanjay nagar, Trust Layout, Munjhe Baba Slum, etc.

While water supply will remain affected in following areas on Feb 4 (Thursday)

Mangalwari Zone:

Gittikhadan ESR, Seminary hill old ESR

Ghandhi Bagh Zone

Sitaburdi Fort GSR Boriyapura/Khadan ESR Killa Mahal Surendragadh Supply from Seminary Hill ESR

Dharampeth Zone
Rifle line: Civil Lines, RTO Colony, Dharampeth 9 Gallis, Gadga, Ambedkar nagar, Ramdaspeth, kachipura, etc
Futala Line: Civil Lines, Damodar Colony, Mariyam Nagar, area nearby VCA stadium, Vidhan Bhavan, Kanchimet area

Ram Nagar GSR: Shivaji ng, shankar ng, gandhi ng, Corporation Colony, Daga l/o, Khare town, Trikoni Park, Dharampeth , Dharampeth Extn.,Bhagwaghar l/o, Chhota Kachipura.

Laxmi nagar Zone:
Laxmi nagar Old ESR and Jaitala Area: Total Jaitala Area,Ramabai Ambedakar nagar

NMC-OCW further appealed citizens to store sufficient water for their use. The inconvenience caused due to affected supply conditions is deeply regretted.
