Nagpur News: After the unanimous election of Balya Borkar as Chairman of Standing Committee of NMC, there is a clear hint that the Ruling Party Leader and the Opposition Leader might be changed. The hint of change is given by both the leaders themselves while speaking in the programme wherein Balya Borkar took charge of the post and subsequent felicitation of him. Both the Ruling Party Leader and the Opposition Leader in their speech said that till they were in their respective positions they will continue their cooperation to Balya Borkar.

The statements of both the leaders have clearly indicated that their tenure is likely to be over within a year. Now, the possibility of NMC getting new Ruling Party Leader and the Opposition Leader could not be ruled out.

The Ruling Party Leader Pravin Datke, in his speech during Balya Borkar’s felicitation while taking charge as Chairman of Standing Committee, has said that he will extend his cooperation to Balya Borkar till he is holding the post. Pravin Datke’s statement triggered a talk that BJP may change the Ruling Party Leader before the Assembly elections in the State. BJP Corporators have also started discussing who will be the next Ruling Party Leader among them.

On the other hand, the Opposition Leader in NMC Vikas Thakre has also repeated the same words like Pravin Datke. Thakre said that he will extend his cooperation to Balya Borkar till he is holding the post of Opposition Leader. Thakre’s words have raised a question: Is he relinquishing post of Opposition Leader to focus fully on his new responsibility of Nagpur City Congress Committee President? If Thakre quits the Opposition Leader’s post, the firebrand Congress Corporator Prashant Dhawad is likely to replace him.
