Nagpur: The work in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s workshop has been paralysed as many of its officials and employees are not coming to office after the spare part scam came to light and officials and employees involved in it were suspended. There is fear in the minds of some of officials and employees of the Ghat road situated maintenance workshop that their names may appear in scam. Some have gone on a long leave while some have taken leave for some or the other reason.
It may be recalled that Senior Corporator Sandip Sahare had brought to light the crores of rupees corruption in Workshop Department and soon the axe fell on Asinagar Zone Assistant Commissioner Vijay Humane, Mechanical Engineers Rajesh Gurmule, Ujjwal Lanjewar, Vehicle Inspector Vikram Mankar and Junior Vehicle Inspector Manish Kayarkar.
These NMC employees had shown the material bought for workshop department for double the amount than the market price. The officials and employees are afraid that if the old files are opened regarding purchase of material they may be caught and so they have stopped coming to office.
