Nagpur: Keeping its word, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) administration has cleared the pending dues of operators running the city bus service. The NMC, through RGTS, has made payment of Rs 36.40 lakh to DIMTS (Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System Ltd), Rs 46.47 lakh to R K City, Rs 28.88 lakh to Travel Time and Rs 49.74 lakh to Hansa Travel. The NMC has made a total payment of Rs 1.61 crore to the bus operators towards pending dues of October only. The dues for November and December are still pending.

It may be recalled, following the threat by operators to halt bus service in city for non-payment of their dues by Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the NMC administration had ‘assured’ the bus operators of clearance of October dues by 4 pm of Thursday itself.

The civic body authorities have further assured to make payment of November dues by next Monday. Sources said that if the October dues are cleared today, then the operators could sustain the bus service 3-4 more days.
