NMC felicitates two 10-yr old boys, the twins, for their daring act of saving a drowning girl

Mayor Satkar Laxminagar zone Children news photo 26 Nov 2014Nagpur: The Laxmi Nagar Zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) felicitated two 10-year old boys, the twins, for their daring act of saving a girl from drowning.

The two 10-year old boys, Om and Soham, sons Girish Kathale, residents of Laxmi Nagar, had gone to a picnic spot near Kondhali on Amravati Road. Both being expert swimmers, Om and Soham were enjoying their swimming at a lake. At the same time, a 10-year old girl tried to venture into the lake but soon started drowning. Hearing the cries of help from the drowning girl, the two bravehearts rushed to the girl and saved her by pulling her out of the lake with a hard struggle. Though the girl was panicked and scared after the life-threatening incident, she got cured after a first aid and now is hale and hearty, thanks to the daring act of the two twins.

Both Om and Soham are Class V students of B R Mundle School and have emerged darling of Laxmi Nagar. Taking the note of their bravery, the Laxmi Nagar Zone of NMC organized a programme to felicitate Om and Soham. The Mayor Pravin Datke, Zone Chairman Gopal Bohre, Assistant Commissioner Rathod and other officials visited the residence of Om and Soham and felicitated them. Both the twins also received inspirational words from the dignitaries to keep the bravery flying. Parents of Om and Soham too were felicitated by the NMC.
