Dr. Kavita Rattan, Founder President, Green Vigil Foundation, was on Sunday felicitated and honoured by Women and Child Welfare Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation for her outstanding contribution towards Environment Protection and Sustainable Development. The felicitation of Dr Rattan was befittingly done on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The programme was organized at NMC’s Town Hall in Mahal. Kanchan Gadkari, wife of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, was the chief guest and honored Dr. Rattan. Shravan Hardikar, Municipal Commissioner, Dayashankar Tiwari, Ruling Party Leader, Dr Arti Singh, Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural), Ashwini Jichkar, Chairperson of the Committee and others graced the occasion.
Under the leadership of Dr Kavita Rattan, Green Vigil Foundation envisions achieving environmental sustainability by widespread community mobilization and education and implements an array of programmes that empower citizens to join environmental protection efforts and together be the harbingers of positive environmental change. The overarching goal of the Foundation’s initiatives such as public awareness campaigns, door to door mobilization, clean up events, educational and research activities for children, saving our natural resources, energy conservation are aimed at creating a generation of green citizens who can take the baton of sustainable development forward.
