Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), in a public notice, has cautioned the TV cable operators, internet service providers who have been found illegally utilizing the streetlight poles for stringing their service cables.
This illegal practice on the part TV cable operators, internet service providers may result in collapse of electric poles/streetlights and subsequently lead to the loss of life or property. The stringing of streetlight poles with service cables also amounts to encroachment as well as nuisance, and liable to be dealt with prosecution and other action, the Public Notice issued by NMC said.
The NMC further directed the concerned operators to remove all such unauthorized/illegal TV cable/internet cable/other cable stringing within 7 days else all such cables and allied instruments will be removed at the risk and cost of owners of these cables and allied instruments and the encroachers will be responsible for any loss to them.
