Nagpur: Hinting at a huge corruption at senior level in Nagpur Municipal Corporation, a case has been registered against NMC’s assistant civil engineer Rameshwar Laxman Nandanwar. Tehsil police has booked Nandanwar and his wife in connection with possessing wealth disproportionate to the known source of his income.
Nandanwar is a class 3 officer and the quantum of assets possessed by them has baffled the cops. The cops conducted raid at the two houses of Nandanwar this morning at Timki Bhankheda area near Dadra bridge, Nagpur and House No617 A, Sonu Niwas and House No. 534 in same locality.
Sources said that estimated value of the assets is Rs 40,87,220/- which is 231.11 % of his known sources of income.
The police sprang up to act against Nandanwar after receiving complaint from Anti Corruption Bureau here. PI Falgun Ghodmare of ACB had complained the matter to Tehsil police.
