Nagpur: It would not be wrong to term it as the repercussion of Nagpur Today’s expose of Dhavan builders’ construction on the land of Joshi-brothers at Zenda Chowk, vide Nagpur Today dated June 18, 2015, that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s anti-encroachment squad came into action to demolish the building on June 20, but could not execute the action.

It may be mentioned that the land-owner Joshi-brothers had already requested the NMC Dharapeth ward officer and PWD officials to demolish the construction, but in vain. He had also submitted his grievances before the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

However, the NMC encrochment squad reached the spot at Zenda Chowk to demolish the portion of construction which was not approved in the map of town planning department, and action did continue for about an hour. But in the mean time, builder Dhavan rushed to the spot, and showing some ‘stay-notice’ document to the squad, got the demolition work stopped. Dhavan also urged the squad that if it did not stop its action, the entire building would collapse. The squad then returned to its pavilion.

After the demolition squad left the place, Joshi-brothers said that they would soon approach the court of law to seek justice.
