Night time chill goes up in Nagpur, temp down at 10.4

Nagpur: There was chill in the air as the city recorded minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday-Sunday night, which was four degrees below normal. It was also the lowest minimum temperature recorded across Vidarbha.

On November 11, the mercury had hit 11.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal, which was the season’s lowest minimum temperature for the city then.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city on Sunday was 30.9 degrees. As per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Akola recorded the highest maximum temperature at 32.8 degrees in Central India while Umaria in Madhya Pradesh was coldest at 5.8 degrees.

The lowest minimum temperature in the city has drastically dropped by 5 degrees in the last two days and 10 degrees in five days.

Between November 20 and 24, the minimum temperature of the city had been hovering between 18 and 19 degrees. On Thursday, it was 17.8 degrees, Friday 15.2 degrees, and on Saturday 12.2 degrees.

As per the IMD, the lowest minimum temperature on Monday and Tuesday is likely to be around 10 degrees, while on November 29 and 30, it could be 9 degrees. As per the forecast, haze is likely to prevail in the city for the next seven days.
