Nagpur: “Neglect of Hindu community is leading to conversion. Had the conversion been taking place due to weaknesses in the community it would have taken long before. But this is not the fact. However, now the Hindu community is becoming aware of many aspects slowly and steadily. Those people who had distanced themselves for their own people are coming closer again.” These thoughts were expressed by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat while participating in a Matang community sammelan organized by Annabhau Sathe Trust here on Thursday.

Bhagwat, on the occasion, dwelt on religious conversion and the untouchability. “Neglect of Hindu community is leading to conversion. However, now the Hindu community is becoming aware of many aspects slowly and steadily. Those people who had distanced themselves for their own people are coming closer again and would be like us. It will take 20-30 years of time,” the RSS chief asserted.

“RSS is making efforts to bring harmony and equality among different communities. But when we do something in this regard, a lot of opponents also come to the fore. A few words on reservation and whether those for whom reservation is carved out are getting benefits sparked uproar. Therefore, I will not say anything on reservation. The swayamsevak of RSS takes his mind to such a level that he sees only a Hindu in Hindus. He never distinguishes between the classification of any castes,” Bhagwat said.

Addressing the Matang community, he said that the Matang community, a part of Hindu community, should not get deprived is the only wish of RSS. The beginning should be made from education. If the community is educated then the progress would be a certainty. The RSS never interferes in the government working but the Chief Minister is a swayamsevak of RSS. The demands of Matang community will be reached to him, Bhagwat said.
