Nagpur News : In two separate incidents, absconding Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) west president Vijay Talewar, his two associates-Ravindra Purkam and Durg Yadav-and Anil Raut alias Annaji, brother-in-law of NCP woman corporator has been arrested on Tuesday.
Around a year ago, Talewar was slapped with criminal charges over a scuffle at Ramdaspeth in a property dispute with a woman. It was learnt that Talewar with his supporters had thrashed a woman over property dispute. Sitabuldi police had taken the woman, her son and two supporters of Talewar in the case. However, since then Talewar and two others went absconding.
Police said Talewar had also applied for anticipatory bail but was rejected by the apex court. On Tuesday, Sitabuldi police has arrested Talewar, Purkam and Yadav.
In another incident, Gittikhadan police arrested Raut while investigating a case of robbery at Katol toll naka in which he was an alleged accused.
